Next.js 16.4 with React 19.3
Pro Prisma and Pro Drizzle v2.8.0 upgrade to Next.js 16.4 while retaining React 19.3 and the familiar application structure.
Pro Prisma and Pro Drizzle v2.8.0 now use Next.js 16.4.0 with React and React DOM 19.3.0. Both kits include the matching Next.js bundle analyzer and React TypeScript definitions.
Framework update
- Updated Next.js and
@next/bundle-analyzerfrom 16.3.6 to 16.4.0. - Kept React, React DOM and their TypeScript definitions on 19.3.0.
- Updated the npm lockfiles for reproducible installs.
Next.js 16.4 brings Turbopack improvements including a smaller development disk cache, less unnecessary server recompilation and smaller production bundles. See the official Next.js 16.4 announcement for the full framework release notes.
Existing projects
No database migration or new environment variable is required when upgrading from v2.7.1. Node.js 22 remains the supported runtime.
The kits keep their existing rendering and caching configuration. Cache Components and the new experimental framework options are not enabled by this update. You can adopt them separately when they suit your application.
